There were 19 riders out on Sunday for the Tour of Flounders / All roads lead to Myddfai / Julie Andrew etc. clubrun to Llandovery. In fine but cold weather, most riders had brought out their summer bikes in preparation for the suffering ahead. Guests were James Phillips (our ex unofficial hill climb champion) & Phil Rees from Langland, who also went out on the Good Friday ride. New member = Chris(tian) Regis joined the club on Sunday, welcome aboard Sir.

We rode through up the Swansea valley, up Pontardawe hill and along the valley road to G-C-G. Into Brynaman and up the Black Mountain. We regrouped at the top, Rhys, Andy D., Bob & Phil R. turned back here. Down to Llangadog and onto Llandovery and a stop at the West End cafe.

Back on the road for half a mile then through the ‘undulating’ lanes to Myddfai & onto Talsarn. Along the common road, through the snow drifts (photos refer) and right onto the Rectory road. Unfortunately, the group split here. Through the farm lanes and right at the hairpin for the 20% climb up to Glasfynydd Forest. Down the rollercoaster road to Tafarn-y-garreg and chaingang along the A4067 home. The Captain unhooked at Ystradgynlais and rolled home wondering why he decided to ride his winter bike with a 42…oh yeah, points…

Points:- 4 = Mark W. 3 = Kevin, Phil G., Ian W., Trevor, Paul, Andy M., John, Andy D. & Mark N. 2 = Louis, Karl, Chris R., Lee, Rhys & Jeremy D. 1 = Bob. Guests = 2.
