First Club Run of 2014 – Carreg Cennen Castle

There was 8 riders out today for this very wet and windy start from the Liberty Stadium. Trevor turning up just on time this week, but having a mechanical before the start, a snapped bolt on is rear mech, unable to fix it he was off home to change his bike and catch up with us on the way.

The rest of us headed off through the Enterprise Zone, towards Chemical Road Morriston. At this point Ian, Rees and Andy turned off. Then there were 4! The remaining 4 rode up Chemical Road, past Morriston Hospital and on to Penllergaer, then down in to Pontardulais for a short stop to wait for Trevor, but too cold and wet to hang around, Jonny turning off at this point that left 3. On to Hendy the rain getting heavier at Hendy Dave G turning off, That left 2 Jeremy D and Mark N, over the roller coaster to Llannon turning right at the junction down to Cross Hands. At this point we decided to miss out the café stop and turn right at the roundabout in Fairfach. It was a steady ride to Ffairfach turning right at roundabout to Amanford.

Meeting up with a lone cyclist coming toward us… It was Trevor, I think we were all glad to see each other. All cold and wet by now it was time to head straight home via GCG, Pontardawe and Clydach. Jeremy turning off at this point. The 2 remaining rider headed home. 55miles in total.
