There were 10 riders out today for the clubrun to Porthcawl. No guests.
We rode through Skewen, over the Bridge and onto Baglan and Margam. There were roadworks on the A48 link road (parallel to the M4)creating a roundabout, which would spoil the sprint home for the Margam sign. Through Pyle and over Stormy Down and along the resurfaced road over the Steps.
Back on the coastal road, through Nottage and onto Kenfig and Mawdlam. Left onto the reopened Water Street. At the railway bridge, a convoy of cars stopped for us, one of which was driven by our very own Andy D. (no points!). Past Margam Park and down onto the slip road, with cones galore and the sprint for the sign. Through that place and onto Aberavon, where the rain started. Through the estate and back onto the A48 and the Briton Ferry bridge.
I would like to apologise for getting you all wet and dirty caused by my lack of mud guards. I will have them fitted ready for next week. I enjoyed the ride today. Porthcawl is always a classic.
