There were 25 riders out today for the clubrun to Carreg Cennen Castle.
Guests were Griff (S.U.C.C.) Matthew Larkins (friend of Griff’s) & Alan Clayton (from Bryncoch).
We rode up the Swansea valley and picked up Karl & Rhys at Pontardawe cross. Up the hill and onto G-C-G an down into the Aman valley. The pace picked up for the non-existent Ammanford sign and we turned right onto the A483.
Right turn at Ffairfach and right up the hill to Trap and the cafe stop. (30 miles – 2 hours). Bob & Andy turned back here.
Back on the road, up the hill towards Gwynfe, right at the crossroads and down & up the big dip to the junction. Left through the lanes
then onto the old Quarry road, joining the Black Mountain road just below the second hairpin bend. On top of the mountain we met the organiser of the Merlin ride (‘the best sportive in Wales’). Down into Brynaman and across the head of the valley road to Ystradowen and down to Ystradgynlais. The group split here as some riders went on an extended ride, while the group returned via the A4067.
Anything odd about the picture at the head of the post?
