There were 17 riders out today, in cold & windy conditions for the clubrun to Carreg Cennen Castle.
Guests were Chris, Tom & Geraint. We decided against going to Gelli Aur as it looks like it’s closed.
We rode through Llansamlet and up the Swansea valley to the heavenly Clydach, where Bob turned off before we turned left to C-C-P. Up the climb towards the back of Scotch Pine, with ice on the dry and exposed road, which made life…interesting.
Down into Bettws, with no ice on the north facing descent. Steve turned off at Bettws and Trevor turned off at Ammanford. Onto Llandybie, Derwydd & Ffairfach where we turned right and up the hill and the Trapp road to the cafe.
Back through the lanes to Glanaman, where we lost John & Paul and even the Captain managed to lose his way, trying to find the high road to Brynaman. We settled on riding up the new bike path to Brynaman R.F.C. and re-joined the main road there. Through G-C-G where it started to snow (3 seasons so far!) and back along the valley road. Lee easily took the contested Pontardawe sign.
Points: Ian W., Paul & Mark W. 3 = Andy M., Mark N., John, Jeremy, Mark K, Trevor & Steve. 2 = Jonny, Nic & Lee. 1 = Bob. 0 = Secretary. Guests = 3.
